English Speech for Children (Part 2)

Here is the text which has been presented in the competition last January. Indeed, this text is imperfect. Therefore, as a novice-speech writer, I do really need your suggestion, correction, comments for better writing.

Ladies and Gentlemen

First of all, let us thank to Allah swt who has been giving us endless blessing. So, we can meet and gather in this beautiful place.

Secondly, let us all deliver our great salam or regards to our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him as he brought us from the darkness to lightness.

Here, I also would like to deliver my thanks to all judges and committee who allowed me to give my speech in this competition entitled, 

            Mastering the language, conquering the world

Ladies and gentlemen,

There are so many languages in the world, from America to Africa, from Australia to Asia. They have their own languages. In Indonesia, there are more or less seven-hundred languages. They use the language not only for daily communication, but also many things such as education, economy, and so on. However, only a few languages that are recognized as international language. One of them is English.

Well, 

Currently, English is widely spoken and used not only in communication but also in various areas such as education, trade, economy, science, and so on so forth. Take for example; we see that almost all leaders in the world could speak English. Therefore, it is very important for us, you and me, to learn and practice it as it is a global language. Actually, there numerous benefits of studying English. But, here, I just want to mention three benefits. 

Firstly, we can read English book well. As you know that almost all resources are in English. Therefore, by understanding English, we can understand the content of the book.

Secondly, as English is as an International language, we could possibly speak with other people across the world. We can speak with American, Australian or even in Asia Countries. We would be easy to communicate and understand them. More importantly, we can have an international network.

Besides that, having bilingual skill is important also. A study says that bilingualism can improve our brain. 

Brothers and Sisters, 

Actually, there are numerous benefits of studying and practicing English like I have already mentioned above. I do hope all of you can explore more the benefits of English. However, we are as Indonesian also must consider and pay more attention to our local and national language. Why? Because it is our identity. Therefore, before studying English, we have to strengthen our own language. I think they are also important as English because we live in Indonesia, especially in Java Island.

Well, all in all, Studying English is important to our life in the future, in the globalization era. But, the most important thing is that we have to master our own language first in order to strengthen our identity. Then, it is followed by English.  I do believe that those combinations would be a good thing to conquer the world.
