Library; The second home

One of my respected persons, Dr. KH. Isroqunnajah, before I depart to Bandung, had said to me that “Nasrul, you have to commit to use your time very well. If you have free time, you must go to Campus library to improve your knowledge by reading or writing. You can only go home in the late afternoon”. I am still amazed with his message to me. He pushed my motivation up to reach and succeed the study. I really realize that it was good path to follow.

During the study, I try to do all his suggestion which I believe that it was good since he has ever done the similar way. When I have a spare time or no class, my steps go to the library or to have discussion with my friends. Alhamdulillah, I would say that recently I have much of free time in my week this semester. I start my class from Monday to Wednesday after zuhur prayer till late afternoon. So, I have morning free time to spend in a good activity.

At 8 O’clock, after doing my private business, I go to library bringing notes and books which I needed. The distance of my room to the library actually is around two hundreds meters, it is not really far and a walk-able way. It takes around seven minutes to go there by foot. At some point, it is one of my effort to exercise by walking. The library is really comfortable with lots of books and other resources such as computers and special corner. It is also completed with nice place for discussion and reading such as Bank Indonesia corner, Korea Corner, French corner, thesis and reference room and so on. Usually, I spend my reading in the French corner which provides many well-known newspapers and magazine, and of course, comfortable place for reading and computer corner for downloading many journals.

I like going to library since I was in the undergraduate students. I strongly admit that this could give me great horizon not only for the knowledge but also finding the inspiration. However, I still I have to focus with my aims. Sometimes, a lot of newspapers need to be read soon while in other way I have to read the material for the following meeting.

Bringing the notes is a must-bring for me as it can help to take a note for the important sentences or words. This is in a bid to improve the vocabulary and new opinion from their perspective. By reading and writing, it can attract me to write another work.

Aside reading and writing, the library is also as the meeting point for discussion with my peer class. We generally discuss and overcome the difficult material or even assignment.  Up to this moment, we still prefer library to other places to conduct the discussion.

All in all, spending the free time in the library is such a good choice since it can help students like me have a broad knowledge. Then, it is the best way to look for the inspiration for the research and get-together with friends. Nevertheless, the focus must be prioritized, otherwise we will not get the point. I do hope that all of us love reading.
